ABOUT THE BOOK

Soecy Gummels skillfully weaves love, tragedy, and discovery into a gripping novel that immerses her readers in the complex lives of her characters with a captivating plot that links two distincitve tales of the power of love and friendship. Journey into the lives of Joshua McGuire and Angelina Jordan, enriched with exhilarating humor and a pendulum of emotions. Discover the secrets, sorrows, and fun of an unlikely couple who prove the old adage that opposites do attract. Josh and Angelina are touched by a love set against the cultural and social backdrop of the past - a past that reveals the poignant relationship between a young African-American woman rendered mute by a brutal rape and the handsome doctor who falls under her spell.

Writing has always been her favourite hobby, and she has written children's stories, poetry, and prose. Most of all, she revels in the joy of the one constant in her life: her family.

LIBRARIAN'S COMMENTS

Touched by love is like a ring with ancient gems. Versions of dance and music set the tone beautifully and each chapter flows into the next seamlessly. There’s laughter and joy, as well as sorrow and tears, the reality of the death and the hope and gift of birth. Touched by Love weaves individuals, families, the past and the present like a beautiful tapestry and does it so well that you can find yourself invested in these very real characters long before the end of the book.
